Scrap Sculpture Course
Forge, Weld, and throw sparks in this metal working mecca with 1-2-1 tuition form a time served blacksmiths! A sculptural welding course for creative minds! Learn how to use metal working tools to create at least 2 funky scrap sculptures! Focusing the first half of our day on Learning the basics of forging texture, MIG welding and getting to grips with your tools while you can unleash the creative beast in the afternoon to fabricate a modern art abstract style sculpture of your choosing!
The Day Overview:
Arrive for a 9:30 start at our studio forge, after a hot drink and getting to know the team and workshop you'll jump straight into getting to grips with your welders and equipment. the first half of the day you'll make a mini scrap sculpture from disregarded old tools and scrap metal (bring your own old tools too if you want!) to make a simple modern tabletop sculpture. After lunch work with your tutor 1-2-1 to utilise scrap in a new way to create a second sculpture in your own style! weird and wild is welcome! The day will come to a close at 5 when your sculptures are finished and ready to take home!
- This course dose include some forge work however this will only be for texturing or bending steel. Full forge days are a separate course
- We cannot make giant or complicated sculptures on this day course
- You may be charged a small fee depending on the amount of material resources you use on your second sculpture
-Bring your own scrap metal & old tools – however if they are suitable to use is down to the decision of your tutor
- You will work directly 1-2-1 with a blacksmith throughout your day to assist with safety, tools and techniques (this is why this course is more costly)
-You will be emailed further documentation and information upon purchase, to fill out and return.

- For this course you do need to be reasonably fit and healthy as it is hot and hard work throughout the day on your feet.

- Please wear full length trousers (an old pair of jeans are ideal), clothes you don’t mind getting dirty as well as old trainers or boots - no open toed shoes, flip flops, sliders.
